Project Description
DYA provided a geotechnical investigation for Exposition Metro Line Maintenance Facility. The project consisted of a Main building (approximately 60,000 square feet [sf]); Secondary building (approximately 8,000 sf); Train wash building (approximately 6,000 sf); Cleaning platform (approximately 4,500 sf), Storage tracks (approximately 55,000 sf), Perimeter security walls and fencing (approximately 3,500 feet); as well as Parking, paved aprons, ramps, and roadways (approximately 350,000 sf).
The scope of DYA's services consisted of reviewing data, conducting a field investigation, performing laboratory tests on selected samples, and performing engineering analyses to develop conclusions and recommendations in a geotechnical report regarding site preparation and grading, foundation type and allowable bearing capacity, estimated total and differential foundation settlements resistance to lateral loads, lateral earth pressures, slab-on-grade support, pavement thickness design, and soil corrosion potential.
