Project Description
Diaz•Yourman & Associates (DYA) is a geotechnical consultant for the preliminary engineering of the Los Angeles to Palmdale segment of the California High Speed Train Project (CHSTP). The 60-mile corridor is a part of $40-billion statewide project. The preliminary engineering phase (30%) included evaluation of proposed alignments to develop design drawings and cost estimates for an ultimate preferred configuration. DYA worked with the design team to provide geotechnical and seismic recommendations for 15 crossings in the form of Geotechnical Memoranda. The crossings will include bridges, tunnels, and trenches. DYA also reviewed project documentation and coordinated a gINT database from existing data. More than 800 borings were compiled from various sources covering the length of the project and input or converted into a standardized format that is being used in GIS and for the development of soil profiles.
