Ownership Transition

DYA co-founders Jerry Diaz and Allen Yourman are pleased and proud to announce the addition of two new principals, Chris M. Diaz and V. R. (Nadesh) Nadeswaran. Chris will assume the role of President, and he and Nadesh will be leading the firm into its 13th year.

 

Chris

Mr. Diaz has over 15 years of experience in the civil construction industry, including geotechnical engineering, geotechnical observation and testing of earthwork, construction surveying for highways and bridges, and construction foreman for earthwork and paving. He has been a key team member at DYA for nearly 11 years, and much of his work has been in design and construction of ground improvement projects, including stone columns, grouting, and deep dynamic compaction. Recent projects include: Pier 400 Buildings and Gate Facility Structures for the Port of Los Angeles; Henry Ford Avenue Grade Separation for the Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority; El Camino Shopping Center Ground Improvement; United States Coast Guard Support Facility; Caltrans District 7; Caltrans District 8 Materials Testing; Coastal Rail Trail for the Cities of Oceanside, Carlsbad, and Encinitas; and currently, he is serving as the QA/QC Manager for OCTA's SR-22 Widening Design-Build Project.  Mr. Diaz received his BS and MS in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M and he is a registered civil engineer. (Update: Registered geotechnical engineer 6/30/12) Chris is an active member and serves on the board of ACEC-OC; he is also a member of ASCE, BDA/OC and BDA/IE, CalGeo, CMAA, SAME, and WTS.

Nadesh

Mr. Nadeswaran has been a part of the DYA team since shortly after its inception. He has over 14 years of experience in geotechnical investigations for infrastructure projects, including freeways, roads, bridges, pipelines, water treatment plants, reservoirs, and other civil improvements. He has managed numerous projects that required complex analyses and innovative recommendations. Projects of note include: Pacific Coast Highway Grade Separation and Mid-Corridor Trench Design-Build both for the Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority; Mid City Expo/LRT for Metropolitan Transportation Authority; Orange County Groundwater Replenishment System for Orange County Sanitation District; Transportation Management Center for Caltrans District 8; and Pier T for the Port of Long Beach, for which DYA won a 2004 Outstanding Project Award from the California Geotechnical Engineers Association. Mr. Nadeswaran received his BS in Civil Engineering from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, and his MS in Soil Mechanics from University of Cambridge, England; he is a registered civil and geotechnical engineer.
