DYA Adds Two New Owners
Diaz•Yourman & Associates' (DYA) has added Gary Gilbert, P.E. and Cherie Eifler as owners.
Gary Gilbert and Cherie Eifler have been made shareholder Associates of the firm. They are the first new owners added since our Ownership Transition in December 2004, when Chris Diaz, CEO, and V. R. Nadeswaran assumed leadership of the firm. They, along with co-founders Jerry Diaz and Allen Yourman, are pleased to be able to offer opportunities for hard-working, dedicated employees to become part of the company’s future. Congratulations to Gary and Cherie!
Mr. Gilbert is a registered civil and geotechnical (updated 1/7/11) engineer, with 12 years of geotechnical engineering experience, including streets, highways, bridges, soundwalls and retaining walls, grade separations, rail and bus lines, intermodal yards for ports and railroads, airport runways and facilities, pavement rehabilitation, water infrastructure, buildings and essential services facilities. He has performed all aspects of geotechnical engineering, including analyzing and providing recommendations for sites with seismic-induced settlements, slope stability, foundation type and allowable bearing capacity, and lateral earth pressures for below grade structures and temporary shoring. Mr. Gilbert also manages soil and groundwater environmental site assessments for public works projects involving petroleum products and heavy metals. He received his BS and MS in Civil Engineering from California State University Long Beach. Gary is a member and serves on the board of ASCE, a co-founding member and leader of the Orange County Chapter of Engineers Without Borders, and a member of APWA, OCWA. He has received numerous awards, including Outstanding Young Engineer of Merit, Engineer of Merit, and President’s Awards from ASCE.
Ms. Eifler serves as the Business Development/Marketing Manager and has more than 20 years of marketing experience developing client relationships; evaluating, developing, and implementing targeted direct mail campaigns, and preparing proposals and promotional materials. Her expertise includes in-depth knowledge of management, operations, and production in the civil engineering and retail industries. Her strengths include leadership, customer service, budget planning and analysis, editing and proofreading, computer operations, and training and supervising support staff. She has excellent human relations, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills. She is a Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM). Cherie is a member of and serves on the board of WTS-OC. She was the recipient of the chapter’s Member of the Year Award in 2007. She is also a member of APWA, BDA/IE and BDA/OC, CMAA, SAME, and SMPS.
