DYA Adds Three New Owners
Congratulations to Matthew Dennerline, S. Niranjanan, and Saroj Weeraratne, who have been made Associates.
Congratulations to Matthew Dennerline, S. Niranjanan, and Saroj Weeraratne, who have been made Associates. They join associates Gary Gilbert and Cherie Eifler and principals Chris Diaz, CEO, V. R. Nadeswaran, Jerry Diaz, and Allen Yourman in the planning and implementation of goals to ensure the continued success of our firm.
Mr. Dennerline has over 8 years of geotechnical engineering experience. A registered civil and geotechnical (updated 12/28/11) engineer, his experience includes field investigations, engineering calculations for a wide variety of engineering problems, including bearing capacity, elastic and consolidation settlement, and vertical and lateral capacity of vertical piles. Mr. Dennerline has managed many geotechnical projects for DYA, including preliminary engineering for the High Speed Rail Palmdale to Los Angeles segment and Quality Control Documents Manager on the SR-22 Design/Build Widening project. He has used GIS mapping techniques to identify geotechnical and seismic hazards, as well as diagram field investigations. He received his BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and is currently enrolled in a master’s program for Civil Engineering at Cal Poly Pomona. Matt is a member of ASCE, SAME, and WTS.
Mr. Niranjanan is a registered civil and geotechnical engineer with over 11 years of experience in geotechnical and transportation engineering. He has served as project manager for numerous projects in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties for Caltrans, Metro, the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles, and a variety of Cities and Airports. Mr. Niranjanan has extensive experience with buildings, bridges, highways, port terminal facilities, airport facilities, airport pavement design, and elastic analysis of pavements using finite element modeling. His experience includes site selection, field investigations, engineering analysis, construction observation and testing, and preparation of geotechnical reports and recommendations. He received his BS in Civil Engineering from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, and his MS in Civil Engineering from Washington State University. Niranjan is a member of ASCE and EERI.
Dr. Weeraratne is a registered civil and geotechnical engineer in California and has 33 years of experience with transportation corridors, water infrastructure, port and harbor facilities, airports, commercial and residential developments, and municipal waste landfills. His expertise includes QA/QC programs for grading projects; laboratory testing and engineering evaluation for fill operations; two- and three-dimensional stability evaluations for landslides and cut/fill slopes; design and analyses of earth structures; instrumentation and laboratory testing programs; and seismicity evaluations. Dr. Weeraratne has also specialized in computer applications for solutions to geotechnical problems such as liquefaction studies, settlement analysis, and statistical analysis to analyze construction activities. He received his BS in Civil Engineering from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, his MS in Soils Engineering from Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand, and his PhD from University of Massachusetts. Saroj is a member of ASCE and AAA/e.
